The city of Hawaiian Gardens provides services to assist Elementary, Junior High & High School students with alternatives to joining gangs. Class presentations are provided to students at all levels, about the dangers of gang involvement and the positives of education, recreation and healthy choices.

Another feature of the ATGM program is its sports program. Year round sports are provided as an alternative. In addition to participating in the various sports, participants can participate in field trips, summer club, various educational excursions (museums, galleries, tours, etc.), and are provided with homework assistance.

• October - November: Basketball (High School)
• December - May: Co-Ed Rugby (Junior High & High School)
• March - April: Co-Ed Basketball, Track and Field (Junior High & High School)
• June - August: Co-Ed Basketball & Co-Ed Rugby (Junior High & High School)
