The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) is working closely with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (DPH) as well as other City, County, and Federal Partners to develop and implement a coordinated COVID-19 response related to people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. LAHSA’s website is designed to help our providers and partners to keep updated on resources and information. 

As this is an emerging, rapidly evolving issue, LAHSA and its partners will provide updated information as it becomes available, in addition to updated guidance. Please visit this site and other referenced pages often:

 LA-HOP Hawaiian Gardens

LA-HOP is designed to assist people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County with outreach services. Outreach workers will continue operating in the field in Hawaiian Gardens.

Did you see someone experiencing homelessness who needs help? Notice a homeless neighbor who seems to be struggling with their physical and/or mental health? You can help them by filling out an outreach request and alert us to any specific concerns you may have regarding the person’s well-being. We’ll use this information to dispatch a homeless services outreach team to the area.

Local Resource Center

The Resource Office at The Way Out Ministries in Hawaiian Gardens remains open to local community members in need of assistance.  County-contracted, multi-disciplinary teams, consisting of outreach, medical, mental health & housing specialists continue to provide onsite services. In addition to homelessness and food services, The Way Out Ministries provides a full range of social services to residents, including help with social security, unemployment and disability claims.

Youth Shelter

Casa Youth Shelter is committed to remaining open and ready 24/7 to provide a safe place to stay, warm bed, and hot meal for all youth ages 12-17 who are homeless, abused or struggling with crisis.

Adult Shelter  

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) Winter Shelter program has been extended and is operating 24-hours. The program provides overnight shelter, meals, showers, and case management. Free transportation is available to and from the shelters by going to any of the designated pick-up locations. For the nearest available shelter and pick-up locations, please contact:

Safe Parking Program

The Safe Parking Program funded through LAHSA provides individuals or families, living in their vehicle, with a safe and legal place to park and sleep at night. Parking locations are safe with onsite security and restrooms.
