Coronavirus Information & UpdatesTranslate Larger Text PrintShare

The City of Hawaiian Gardens is preparing for any potential impact to our residents caused by novel coronavirus by taking proactive steps at City facilities and providing up-to-date information on its communication channels. While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) state risk to the general public is still low, it is important that everyone in the City stay up-to-date on developments and be prepared.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) have declared a public health emergency in response to increased spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) across the country. Following that declaration, the City has made a concerted effort to continually share information from the CDC and California Department of Public Health. The City will continue to post tips on its social media sites about staying healthy and proper hand-washing procedures, such as:

  • Please stay home if you are sick to avoid infecting others.⁣
  • Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face.⁣
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.⁣
  • Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.⁣
  • Get immunized against the flu.⁣

Additionally, the City has placed extra hand sanitizer at the following facilities to avoid the spread of germs:

  • City Hall
  • The C. Robert Lee Activity Center
  • The Mary Rodriguez Senior Center
  • Clarkdale Park
  • Fedde Sports Complex

For more detailed information about coronavirus, the City urges community members to visit the CA Department of Public Health website or the CDC website.
