| The Senior Center was dedicated December 31, 1992 and was named after a resident who was an exceptional citizen as a volunteer and a Ceramics Instructor, to provide a place where seniors could come and improve the quality of their lives.

The Senior Advisory Board consists of 7 members which are elected every two years. Our current 2008-2009 Senior Advisory Board members are Bertha Meraz ~President, Cora Cabrera ~ Vice-President, Pat Olin ~ Second Vice-President, Charlotte Roe ~ Secretary, Patrick Gee ~ Treasurer, Isabel Rodriguez ~ Board Member and Antonio Garcia ~ Board Member. Please feel free to talk to them about any ideas, comments or suggestions you may have concerning seniors. The Board meets the 1st Thursday of the month in the Senior Conference Room.

Our Senior lunch program is Monday thru Friday and is free for Seniors 60 and over. Besides providing a hot meal we also celebrate special occasions.

March Lunch Menu

We provide a hot meal to seniors thru our “home delivered meals”. The meals are delivered Monday thru Friday and are free to senior who are over 60 and live in Hawaiian Gardens. To register please call Bernice at (562) 806-5400 ext 136.

We provide monthly food boxes to Seniors 60 and over (must qualify under federal guidelines). Every third Friday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the Monthly Calendar.
This program is no longer accepting applications, but you may put your name in the waiting list during food box day.

Most Mondays we get together in the craft room to learn a new craft, knit or Crochet after the lunch program. Please check our Monthly calendar for days.

Come and learn the art of Ballet Folklorico on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the C. Robert Lee Stage

Monday thru Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Most Thursdays after lunch we have our Bingo. So come and join your friends for an afternoon of fun. Please check our Monthly calendar for days.

Senior Computers, Conference Room and Lounge
Senior computers, Senior Conference Room and Senior Lounge are all open spaces where seniors are able relax (unless the room is reserved). Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
