John F. Heckerman
Name: John F. Heckerman

John Heckerman was born on April 3 rd, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio. He has also lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and California where he graduated from Anaheim Union High.

He has one Daughter, three sons, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Heckerman’s hobbies include Golf and fishing. He worked 14 and half years for Rockwell, 17 years as a Forklift Mechanic and Delivery Truck Driver, as well as managed an Auto Repair Garage in Arkansas for 2 years.

John lived in Hawaiian Gardens from 1949-1954, and moved back in 1993.

His civic involvement includes being past Grand Knight of Mary Help of Christians Council 3052, Bellflower, Past Gov., Moose lodge #600 in Long Beach

He decided to serve as a council member in order to “change the way the city was headed and help the people of Hawaiian Gardens.” His accomplishments include: the city newsletter, the lowering of permit fees, and the State law allowing volunteer fire fighters to receive donated goods. The issues Mr. Heckerman will continue to work on in the future are: building of a new library and a new parking structure for City Hall and Activities Center.
