My mom, Nettie, and my dad, Virgil, were living in Hawaiian Gardens when I, Henry Frank Trimble, was born in 1956. Unfortunately, I lost my dad to his battle with Leukemia in 1959. My mother, who never re-married, raised six children on her own.  Our home growing up was filled with five active boys and only one girl, Irene, who grew up to be a Doctor.  I was the baby of the family and answered to “Hank.”

One day, while volunteering as a coach to our local baseball team, one of my friends introduced me to Kathy.  When I first saw Kathy, she truly took my breath away, as she was as beautiful as a porcelain doll.  She would come to games and practices with her friend—although I like to think it was really with the excuse to see the “coach” (me).  One day I asked her out on a date.  Our first date was at the drive-in movie theatre on Lincoln.  I married her and we have shared 30 amazing years.  We have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters and 2 awesome sons, who have given us a total of 10 grandchildren (2 girls and 8 boys).  Kathy and I are very proud of all our children.  We love spending time with our family and I particularly enjoy taking time to spoil our grandchildren.

As a man who enjoys talking to people, I was fortunate to have served the community of Hawaiian Gardens as an employee for the last 17 years.  As a person who enjoys meeting people and driving, the position as bus driver provided me the opportunity to do something that I loved.

My life, with all its challenges and accomplishments is an amazing journey.  I enjoy life!  I love going to the movies and seeing suspense, mystery and action films.  Some of my favorite movies are: Moonstruck, Midnight in Paris, and Forest Gump.  I also enjoy taking long drives and enjoying my surrounding and the beautiful views and scenery.  One day I hope to take a long drive that leads me to visiting all the states in the US, while meeting people, tasting food from various places and cultures and making new friends.

I am now beginning a new journey.  I am humbled and truly honored to have been elected by the residents of Hawaiian Gardens.  I will keep my word to the community that I serve by continually working to find ways to meet the needs of both employees and residents.  My goal is to continue to move our City forward and to continue to make our beautiful City a better place to live and work.
