New Development Projects

Hawaiian Gardens Casino

The Hawaiian Gardens Casino has submitted an application for the construction of a permanent two-story casino building encompassing approximately 200,000 square feet. The existing tent casino facility will be removed upon completion of the new casino. The new casino building will include new gaming areas, restaurant, sports bar, public gatherings areas, and personal and retail services. Other improvements include improved parking facilities, landscaping, and off-site traffic improvements.

The carwash includes a fully animated wash tunnel, extensive landscaping, street signage, and utilizes the newest green technology to recycle wastewater. The carwash is located at 12245 Carson Street and is one of the newest buildings along this well traveled commercial corridor.

Capital Improvement Projects

Hawaiian Gardens Public Library and Public Safety Center

Hawaiian Gardens Public Library and Public Safety Center opened in 2009 and houses the Los Angeles County Library and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Public Safety Center. The library includes a children and teen area, computer terminals, and large collection of reading materials. The Public Safety Center provides residents of Hawaiian Gardens with a safe place to report any crimes or suspicious activity in their neighborhoods, meet and interact with patrol deputies, host neighborhood and business watch meetings, and receive crime prevention information.

Extending 226 th Street

In 2010, the City of Hawaiian Gardens extended 226th Street, from Arline Avenue to Pioneer Boulevard. The new street included adding rubberized asphalt, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, handicap ramps, street lights, and substantial landscaping. A new three-way stop sign was installed at the new 226th Street and Pioneer Boulevard intersection. Extending 226 th Street improves the vehicle and pedestrian access in the southwestern portion of the City and greatly enhances the aesthetics of the neighborhood.
