The Fedde Sports Complex and Moskowitz Stadium is a new, modern and premier outdoor recreational facility built to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for the community and local schools, a first of its kind in the City. The project began as a vision that eventually became a reality and is now known as the City’s crown jewel of outdoor sports and recreation. This state-of-the-art sports facility was constructed in two phases and took approximately 15 months to complete. In December 2010, Phase I of the project began and consisted of the design and construction of new amenities, and improvements to the Fedde Sports Complex and Moskowitz Stadium. Phase II of this project consisted of the construction and expansion of the existing parking lot, pedestrian walkway, two baseball fields, a concession stand, playground area, scoreboards, field lighting, fencing, irrigation and landscape. The cost for the Fedde Sports Complex and Moskowitz Stadium totals approximately $7.4 million. Funding for this project was derived from various funding sources that include: Private donation from Mr. Irving and Cherna Moskowitz’s – Irving Moskowitz Foundation, State of California Department of Parks and Recreation grant, and the City of Hawaiian Gardens General Fund.

Today, the facility includes two baseball/softball diamonds, backstops, 1000-seat bleachers, playground, pedestrian walkways, drinking fountains, two football/soccer fields; restroom, and concession building. The two-phased project also featured modifications to the irrigation system; parking lot improvements; sports field lighting, palm trees, landscaping, colored concrete, brick pavement and the addition of a multi-purpose athletic field.

This sports facility is a dream come true thanks to the City’s partnerships with the ABC Unified School District, the Irving Moskowitz Foundation, and the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation.
